Thiamine Description
Thiamine - Thiamine is
water soluble vitamin that is found in brown rice, egg yolks, fish,
legumes, liver, peanuts, peas, port, poultry, rice bran, wheat germ,
grains, asparagus, broccoli, , dried plums and raisins. Thiamine is
also called Vitamin B1. Thiamine is useful in enhancement of the
circulatory system especially with respect to blood formation and
the metabolism of carbohydrates. Thiamine is thought by many
authorities to enhance brain power and memory. It certainly
increases energy. A Thiamine deficiency can lead to a disease known
as beriberi, constipation, edema, and an enlargement of the liver.
Thiamine deficit is not unusual in those who suffer from alcoholism.
Thiamine is an antioxidant and assists the body from early aging.
