Eucalyptus Description
Eucalyptus - Eucalyptus
is a remedy for bronchitis, cough and rheumatism, but has been
effective against gallbladder conditions, whooping cough, fever,
hoarseness, asthma, diabetes, scarlet fever, measles, loss of
appetite, wounds, acne, sore mouth, bleeding gums, nerve pain,
worms, gonorrhea, headache, halitosis, tuberculosis, and several
other ailments. Eucalyptus comes from an Australian tree but can now
be grown throughout any subtropical region of the world. Some
species of Eucalyptus can grow as tall as twelve stories high. The
usable portion of the Eucalyptus tree for medicinal purposes is
found in the oil that can be extracted from fresh Eucalyptus leaves
and the tips of the tree branches. Applied topically to the skin,
Eucalyptus has been reported to be effective against loss of blood
circulation at the skin surface. Still, the main use of Eucalyptus
is as a decongestant, for loosening excessive phlegm, and for relief
of spasms. Eucalyptus is very popular and can come in dry, semi-dry,
semi-solid, and in liquid forms of preparations.
