Choline Description
Choline - Choline
is a water-soluble vitamin of the B complex variety. Choline is
essential for nerve impulses to be properly transmitted from the
brain to locations throughout the central nervous system. This
compound also regulates the gallbladder. The human body manufactures
acetylcholine with choline. Choline is abundantly found in almost
all foods and is an important component of lecithin. Since choline
is so ubiquitous it is rare that people have a deficiency. When a
deficiency does occur, it can lead to excessive levels of high blood
pressure and internal bleeding in the kidneys. Deficiency can also
lead to actual degeneration of the liver.
