Aloe Vera Description
Aloe Vera - Aloe Vera
is a plant that is very common in arid regions. Aloe Vera is used
extensively today in hair care products and cosmetics. Some believe
that Aloe Vera is a skin healer that will repair cuts, insect bites,
sunburns, poison ivy, and even eczema. It is also listed as a remedy
for constipation. There is a superstitious belief in some parts of
the Middle East that hanging an Aloe plant over the doorway will
ward off evil from the household. More likely, there are studies
that indicate Aloe Vera may help rectal itching, colitis, varicose
veins, and even skin cancer.
Aloe Vera has
been known by many other names, including Barbados Aloe, Cape Aloe,
Socotrine Aloe and Zanzibar Aloe. There may be abdominal discomfort
or pain if the dosage level is too high. Long term use should not be
attempted without having the approval opinion of a physician.
